President's Report

There are distinct differences, but the similarities carry over between the two sports, such as good pitching, fielding and timely hitting will win you games.  Strategy is very different playing on shorter bases, the infielders play much closer to the batter and the base runners can’t lead off.  This is the same for all of us in the income protection industry.  No two policies are quite alike, but the similarities carry over.  It isn’t about what this “policy A” has that “policy B” doesn’t, it is about making sure your clients are protecting their income at an appropriate level.

I told my softball girls about a tear jerking story of how lucky they are to play such a fun game and compete every time they step on the field.  A little boy named Ari had a heart transplant and spend 189 days in the hospital recovering.  When his parents surprised him that he was going home in two days, he said the first thing he wanted to do was go to the baseball field.  He and his family were outside of the hospital with a makeshift field set up on the front walkway and Ari had his plastic bat and Red Sox jersey wanting to play so badly.  I think at times we are all guilty of taking things for granted, or may give up a little too quick on a client or opportunity.  Use this story as inspiration to give it your all and not quit on any of our client’s insurance needs, including income protection.  Here is a link to the video: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RtpdGhN-87k  (have a tissue ready!).
