Dear Fellow IDIS Members:
I hope everyone had a fantastic Holiday Season! I hope that you got to spend time with loved ones and that Santa brought you all the presents you asked for! We have many things to be grateful and thankful for, as this awesome industry allows us to help all our clients, while in return, pays us very well to do so.
We also want to express sincere thanks to Todd Shields, for his inspiring leadership over the past two years as President. We have some big shoes to fill, and our new Board is already working on some exciting things for this year that we will be sharing with you soon. We are especially grateful to Susan and Piera for their work over the last 13 years as Executive Directors, and are confident that Joe Pittman will continue to help our International DI Society to grow and prosper.
For 2018 to be successful, we all need to set some inspiring and meaningful goals. For the IDIS, we also have some important goals! Continuing to grow our membership is our number one goal and it is something that each of you can help us reach! I would like to challenge each of you to help recruit one new member. This is something that each of us can do as we share with associates how important it is to support the one organization that supports us in this most important income protection, as well as how IDIS has helped us personally. This is the biggest key to our success this year. Our Board of Directors has discussed this topic many times and we agree that we need to commit to growing our organization and spreading the great news on what DI does for people that are too sick or too hurt to work.
I’m wishing you all the best in 2018! If you have anything you would like to discuss to make the IDIS even better, please email me at email@example.com or call me directly at 801-304-7706.

Each month, we will be highlighting one of the many benefits of being a member of IDIS!
IDIS Monthly Webinar Study Groups - There is no cost to our members for this valuable benefit! The International DI Society has successfully implemented a National Study Group. The Study Group generally meets on the last Thursday of each month, at 2:30 p.m. Eastern Time. We are dark only in October and December. Topics vary, discussions are lively, and some calls have included guest speakers and panelists. The Study Groups are offered either by webinar or audio conference, depending on the preference of our presenters.
IDIS Study Groups offer you...
- The ability to learn from and interact with some of the most successful people in our industry;
- The opportunity to learn more about the many products, services, and inner workings of working in the Disability Arena;
- A way for you to give input for specific topics of interest that can help build your practice that you would like to be a topic of a Call;
- A great way to introduce potential members, (associates, partners, other specialists) to IDIS, since we allow a non-member the opportunity to be part of one DI Study Group call before being a member.
Non-members are welcome to join in one time. We then ask that you become a member of the International DI Society to continue to participate.
Please email or telephone the DI Society offices if you are interested in participating or you would like to moderate a Study Group. Watch your e-mail for information about the upcoming Study Group programs!

For years, the Disability Insights column in Broker World Magazine has been a devotion and a sincere reflection of the passion for disability insurance held by our founder, W. Harold Petersen. Broker World recently reported that Harold has made the decision to pass-on the writing of the column. Whoever takes this on has a tough act to follow!
