Dear Fellow IDIS Members:
“The only disability in life is a bad attitude” -- Scott Hamilton, Retired American figure skater and Olympic gold medalist.
Having had the honor of participating in our Annual IDIS Board Planning Meeting this last week, I am excited with the goals and commitment that this year’s Board of Directors is bringing to us as members of our Society. We have some inspiring tools and resources that we have planned for IDIS this year, which should help us to keep a great attitude in bringing this most important protection to our clients and their incomes.
One of our main priorities this year is growing awareness and membership to the International DI Society. Stay tuned to our webpage, as well as your email, for some new tools, handouts, and videos that are being created to focus on the benefits of our Society, as well as our upcoming 2018 Conference in St. Louis, MO.
Speaking of our upcoming Conference, registration for the Annual Conference is scheduled to begin sometime in April. Register early and save! Program Chair Don Schamay and his committee are putting together a very inspiring program with the theme, “Taking Care of Business." Don will be sharing more details on the Conference in upcoming editions that you can share with colleagues to promote membership and attendance.
I also wanted to remind you about the Speaker’s Bureau, also on the website. If you have an interest in speaking on DI, either on a local or national level, and are not yet on the Speaker’s Bureau, please send your information to the execs and they will add you on. This is one of most valuable member benefits, especially if you want to get more involved in the industry. Please note your membership must be current to participate.
Last, but not least, a big thank-you to our new Executive Director, Mr. Joe Pittman. Although he hasn’t had a lot of time yet to pick up on everything that has been done over the past 13+ years, he has already proven to be a tremendous resource to us as a Board. His experience and ideas that he shared in our Planning Meeting provided evidence that we are in capable hands moving forward in maintaining and building on our strong foundation.
As always, if you have any questions or comments, please feel free to contact me at firstname.lastname@example.org

IDIS Speakers Bureau - Our Speakers Bureau is designed to help IDIS members raise awareness about the importance of income protection. Through our Speakers Bureau, we can provide a list of "DI experts" who can present programs to other industry groups, employers, consumers and anyone else interested in understanding the need for every working American to protect his or her income.
We connect audiences with IDIS member speakers in a variety of ways including keynotes, panel discussions and joint presentations. Other opportunities may take advantage of an array of digital options such as web events and promo videos.
